Alumio's Akeneo to ChannelEngine Integration
Alumio’s connector package integrates Akeneo to ChannelEngine via Alumio’s iPaaS (integration Platform as a Service). It helps easily connect the Akeneo software to your ChannelEngine store, in order to manage a wide range of products. The connector package operates on the latest, future-proof method of connecting the APIs of the two connected software, to create a seamless integration via Alumio’s cloud-based iPaaS. In context to the Akeneo to ChannelEngine connection, this type of integration ensures the products are always synced correctly without any need for additional plugins. It also allows you to add customizations to your integrations via the iPaaS without any loss of data integrity.
The Connector Package for Akeneo to ChannelEngine delivers
Integration Data Routes
These pre-configured data routes are working ‘process flows’ that determine how the two connected software interact with each other. For example - a properly configured data route determines that the ‘products’ from Akeneo sync correctly with Shopware. In order to configure or modify these data routes, Alumio’s iPaaS interface offers Mappers and Transformers that allow you to map incoming data from one software to another connected software while transforming it to a format that works.
API Connectors allows you to access and use the data provided by the APIs in order to create your own custom data routes. The API Connectors can be used to create a stable connection to the Akeneo and ChannelEngine APIs, enabling the required authentications for both software to integrate. The API Connectors not only instantly acquire all the information from the connected web services, but they can also be used for sending data between both software.
What the connector package helps connect
All Akeneo product entities are connected to ChannelEngine standards.
Product extra data
Akeneo attributes to ChannelEngine extra data.
If images are publicly available these can be communicated to ChannelEngine. Note: we developed a custom API for this because images in Akeneo are not publicly available. This is optional and not standard in this package.
Stock updates can be run from a different endpoint as a complete product update.
Dutch, German and English are included in the connector, while other languages can be added upon request.
Public Akeneo Image API (optional)
The images from Akeneo must be presented via a publicly available link. Note: We developed a module for Akeneo that can be delivered as an add-on service. This module is an API image endpoint that serves the images to a publicly available link.
Use the connector package via Alumio's cloud-based iPaaS
In order to run the Akeneo to ChannelEngine connector package, you will also need an account on Alumio’s cloud-based, no-code integration platform. To create an Alumio account you can choose from the following plans:
Option 1- Alumio’s Shared Solution:
Access shared cloud space for integrations without full access to Alumio’s iPaaS. Projects are implemented and managed via an Alumio partner along with any future changes or adjustments to the integrations that may be required.
Consult with your partner for pricing.
Option 2 - Alumio’s Dedicated Edition:
Receive dedicated cloud space with Alumio’s iPaaS that can be used by customers and partners in order to change or add integrations via Alumio’s user interface. Get full control over your data across integrations and Alumio’s dedicated resources.

How to create configurations
Do it yourself
You can use Alumio’s iPaaS to configure the integration yourself via the user interface.
Get help from your ChannelEngine, Akeneo or Alumio partner
Your integration partner can help configure the integration, add logic and create changes using Alumio’s integration tools.
In both ways, the following steps are suggested:
Step 1: Sign up for the Alumio iPaaS & Install Connector Package
Buy an account and the connector package via any of Alumio’s partners or on www.alumio.com
Step 2: Add credentials and mapping via Alumio’s interface
Add basic configuration
Configure basic information like adding credentials and connection URLs to the correct paths of the APIs via Alumio’s iPaaS.
Your implementation starts with defining which attributes are available in your source system and need to be mapped to your connected system. Use Alumio’s easy-to-use interface to create the mappings needed for your integration.
Step 3: Add edge cases
Alumio's integration features allow you to add specific requests or business logic in the integration if required.
Step 4: Final testing
After all mappers are set up and all attributes are checked, you can conduct a final test to make sure everything is as expected.
Maintenance and Add customizations
After the basic integration has been configured, the integration is up and running and will be monitored via Alumio’s iPaaS (integration Platform as a Service). If you want to add customizations to your integration, Alumio provides an integration toolbox that allows you to flexibly adjust or modify your integrations by yourself or via a partner, using Alumio’s user-friendly, no-code interface.
The Akeneo Connector supports Akeneo version 4.0 and higher, and can be used with both the Akeneo PIM Community Edition and Akeneo PIM Enterprise Edition. ChannelEngine only has 1 API endpoint and all versions are compatible with the connector packages. The connector is available on Alumio, the Akeneo Marketplace and the ChannelEngine Marketplace.
